Will a mere mortal rob God?

I have heard of Christians who do not believe in the paying of tithes and offerings. These beliefs are so deep that they are ready to argue anyone who says otherwise. Does God expect us to pay tithes and offerings? There are verses in both the new and old testaments about tithes and offerings. Until one comes to understand that the work of God on earth can also be fuelled by our monetary contributions, it makes no sense to give. The tithes and offerings we give to the church are not shipped to heaven but are used on earth. However, these contributions have eternal value and are secure for one eternal reward. Remember, that your salvation is not based on your tithes and offerings. We are saved by grace. Our salvation is evidenced by our good works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. (Malachi 3:10) One of the good works we do as believers is supporting the work of God with our resources. With a proper understanding of the need to support the work of God, paying of tithes and offerings should come from a willing heart. The prophet Malachi warns the Jews of robbing God by not bringing their whole tithes and offerings unto the house of God. Then God throws a challenge to the people: “Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” (Malachi 3:10b). The only time God permits man to test Him as shown in scriptures is through tithes. What God has to offer is to open the floodgates of heaven and pour so much blessing that the giver will not even have room to store it. If you are wondering that this message is just for the nomadic Jews, know that we have also been saved to do good works. Our money should secure for us godly rewards. God wants us to be kingdom financiers. Your contribution is able to travel to where you cannot go to save a soul. When we support God’s work with our resources, we obey scriptures and God has promised to keep the devourer away from our response. Our response is to be truthful in paying our tithes in the house of God. Bringing tithes and offering to church is scriptural and we should consider it as such. If someone is not giving good accountability for the resources of the church, it is our responsibility to help the people stand well but it should not lead us to stop paying tithe. Jesus will judge every mismanagement of God’s resources. Let us ponder about this verse; “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings”.(Malachi 3:8)
